Smile is not to scale. It extends beyond my face, beaming out into the world with the ecstatic joy that comes with the important milestone of success - coffee!
Yes, coffee!
Celebrating an important milestone on my A Role to Play podcasting journey - my first (Buy Me a Coffee) Coffee(s)! I love producing content and I put a lot into it - getting feedback (and Coffee!) is a great reward... This was the first, and my smile cannot be contained.
When I started A Role to Play I had no idea what was involved to create the kind of podcast I would want to listen too. Evey month I learn something new. A new tip to record better sound, how to voiceover music without relying solely on lowering the volume, how to design a soundbite - and the list goes on and on. In short, it's been quite a learning curve!
Then there's the stats. I get these reports on the number of downloads, and "achievements" form my hosting provider (Buzzsprout). Oooh - what a thrill it was to reach the first 250 downloads achievement. Lol.
Is anyone out there? Can you hear me??
Yes, I know you can, you shy bunch, you!
I know it because you tell me. Because you get excited when I tell you what my podcast is about. Because I'll be at work and you'll say something to me about a recent episode. Because I get the occasional unsolicited email offering to improve my SEO.
AND because SAB bought $20 coffees!! - WOOT! WOOT!
You bet I framed that cert!
So Buy Me a Coffee sends little notices and "certificates" when someone buys me a coffee. This being the first, in traditions nearly lost to time and digital currency - you bet I framed that cert! It's up on my website on the "Support the Show" page.
Do you know what I'm talking about? The $1 or $2 bill behind the cash at the mom and pop variety store, or restaurant? Leave a comment below yes/no - thoughts?
What you won't see there, but equally valid, is the smile that goes along with it.
To anyone reading this, just know, yes, the coffees are appreciated, and they help me to keep creating this content, but all the coffees (or money) in the world would pale if you weren't listening and enjoying it. I'd love to hear from you. You can comment or leave me a voicemail here on my website. I may even include a mention in a future episode!
Thanks for reading!
Until next time. Make a wish. Dream it true.
